Poll Results: Focus on Search
We’ve compiled the results of our “focus-on-search” poll, and it seems that most of you like the idea of placing the cursor focus in a site’s search box. Slightly more than half the respondents thought it would be easier for visitors to search this way, while about 28% thought it would be confusing, or said they simply used keys to scroll.

This month, we’re shining the spotlight on SLI partner PowerReviews. The company’s solution uses customer reviews to generate product attributes, such as “top picks” or “easy setup,” that can be used with SLI to improve the search experience. Studies have shown that consumers who search by social attributes convert at a 20-25 percent higher rate than those who simply search using traditional attributes like brand or price, explained John Grech, senior director of sales and business development for PowerReviews.
PowerReviews and SLI have worked together on more than 30 joint customer projects, and we share a similar approach in bringing advanced e-commerce features to online retailers,” Grech said. “We make it easy for our joint customers to bring social commerce functionality to their online storefronts, without worrying about IT engagement or lengthy implementation.”
